There are many, many, MANY things I love about my job. From cuddling brand new babies, to meeting new people, and traveling to new places.
When Kendra contacted me last year about photographing her wedding, I had already hung up my belt (camera?) as a wedding photographer. It wasn’t for me I thought, I was teaching grade school art, I just didn’t have the time. But then, she said the magic words….
“We are getting married in Mexico…”
OH! OH Mexico. I have time for that! 🙂
I had photographed a destination wedding the year before, and it was a blast. I couldn’t turn down this opportunity. And had I known at the time we would be leaving in the middle of a huge snow storm, I wouldn’t even have had to bat an eye!
A few months prior to the wedding Dan and Kendra and I spent a cold afternoon capturing their engagement photos and we talked about the warmer weather that they would no doubt have for their wedding day!
Kendra and Dan had a great group of friends and family fly into the resort at Playa Del Carmen at the Sandos Eco Resort.
It was for sure a unique resort filled with jungle wildlife- We had monkeys out side of our door!
After a few days of fun in the sun, it was the wedding day!
I spent part of the morning in the salon with Kendra as she got pampered for the big day.
After our gorgeous bride was ready to go, we met up with the girls and they helped get Kendra get into her dress.
Dan and Kendra had teal and violet tones, with peacock feather accents to tie the look together.
Thank you again to Kendra and Dan for allowing me to be part of this exciting, and beautiful week in Mexico. I love that not only and I able to see the world, but that I get to capture the beginning of a whole new world for this beautiful couple!
